Hamza Arifo - Research Assistant
I am a BSc Biomedical sciences student currently working as a research assistant on placement at the Prepared Minds Lab at Queen Mary University of London.
My academic interest lies in how innate behavioural predispositions are encoded in the brain. I am exploring the literature on using neuronal activity markers, including Immediate Early Genes IEGs like c-Fos and phospho-S6 (pS6), to capture activation patterns. This involves a close study of techniques like immunohistochemistry IHC that allow researchers to visualize these neural footprints and link specific circuits to behaviour.Â
